Base map

The app's base map is served by OpenFreeMap, a rendering of data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Bench data

The "dormant" bench layer comes from the OpenStreetMap database, published under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0.

The country, region and city shown for a bench are resolved from Natural Earth (public domain) and GeoNames, published under the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Community data under ODbL

Benches added by the Benchscape community that are missing from OpenStreetMap form a separate geographic database, distributed under the ODbL 1.0 license in line with its share-alike terms.

An up-to-date export is provided free of charge on request at contact@benchscape.app.

What is not covered

Photos, ratings, reviews and bench names are content belonging to Benchscape and its contributors. They are not part of the data published under ODbL and remain governed by the terms of use.
